Room Bookings

We have rooms which are available for free bookings for group study, meetings, or events. The following rooms can be booked by the public:

Second floor:

Pine Room designed for consultation/small meetings; seats up to 4 people
Birch Room designed as a small board room and seats up to 15 people

Please note that library programs take precedence in these rooms, and the following restrictions apply:

  • Rooms can only be used for non-commercial purposes. If attendees are being charged to attend, the free library meeting rooms cannot be used.
  • Personal food and beverages are allowed, but catered food and alcohol are not.
  • Please return all chairs and tables to their original positions when your group is finished with the room.
  • Rooms cannot be booked on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Groups are welcome to meet elsewhere in the library.
  • Rooms cannot be booked during the key study months of December, April and June. During these months, groups are welcome to meet elsewhere in the library, but rooms are in use for students.

Bookings can be made in person at our second-floor Information Desk or by phone at (780) 410-8602.

Drop-in Rooms

Some rooms in the library cannot be booked and are used on a drop-in basis. The non-bookable (drop-in only) rooms include:

Main floor
Spruce Room (under the stairs) Carrels for individual silent study

Second floor
Aspen Room 8 chairs around a single table
Willow Room Soft chairs with tablet arms; can be used for small group discussion or individual reading/study

These rooms can still be used for group study, small meetings, book club meetings, etc., on a first-come, first-served basis.

Storybook Cottage and Readmore Hall

The program rooms in the Enchanted Forest (Storybook Cottage and Readmore Hall) are not available for outside bookings at this time.

Community Centre Rooms

There are also meeting rooms available just outside the library building, in the Community Centre complex, administered by Strathcona County. These are also available for booking by the public.

For more information contact the Strathcona County room bookings office at (780) 410-8505 or email ccbookings@strathcona.ab.ca.

Other Events

We may be able to accommodate other types of events as needed. Please contact us with questions if you are interested in holding an event at the library.
